I tell you about a film he never made

This work constructs an open narrative that is linked to a text by Michelangelo Antonioni: New York from the 34th floor overlooking Central Park/ The soundtrack for a film set in New York (1970). How- ever Antonioni never shot a film in New York City. So I entered his »still open film set« in my work and I’m showing pictures, locations and possible tracking shots for a fictional movie.
Book pages which show areas and places of the city were layouted on sheets as possible sequences and shooting locations and show distance shots, panoramas and possible places or sequences of tracking shots.
The photographs which I made in New York City in 2009, have a particular relationship to the world of sound. In a way they absorb the sound and tell on this level of a New York City in 2009.

Diese Arbeit stellt einen offenen narrativen Zusammenhang her, dessen Verbindungsglied ein Text von Michelangelo Antonioni ist: „New York from the 34th floor overlooking Central Park/ The soundtrack for a film set in New York“ (1970). Antonioni drehte jedoch nie einen Film in New York. In der Arbeit betrete ich dieses „immer noch offene Filmset“ und zeige Bilder, Orte und mögliche Kamerafahrten für einen fiktiven Film.
Bücherseiten, die Orte der Stadt zeigen, wurden auf Bögen zu möglichen filmischen Abfolgen und Drehorten zusammengestellt und zeigen Weiten, Panoramen und mögliche Orte oder Reihenfolgen einer Kamerafahrt. Ein Drehort kann nochmal auftauchen.
Die Beziehung der Bilder zum Text ist eine temporäre und offene. Der Betrachter ist eingeladen eigene Beziehungen herzustellen, zwischen Bildern, Sequenzen und dem Text, er kann "seinen eigenen Film" erstellen.
Die Fotografien, die 2009 in New York City entstanden sind, haben eine besondere Beziehung zur Klangwelt. Sie absorbieren gewissermaßen den Klang und erzählen auf dieser Ebene von einer Stadt New York im Jahre 2009.
