Shown is the so called Forum am Europaplatz, city center of the city of Castrop-Rauxel, which was planned and built between 1965-75 by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. The Forum was built between the two cities Castrop and Rauxel that were merged to one city in 1926. The forum should formulate a new city center. It was seen as a symbolic center of Europe. Castrop-Rauxel is located in the Ruhr Area (Germany) that was in the 1960s and 70s still very strong marked by coal mining. The time of the shooting was a random day in spring 2010. This works belongs to the work Ohne Titel (Vorhänge).
 

Gezeigt wird das Forum am Europaplatz, Stadtzentrum von Castrop-Rauxel, das zwischen 1965-75 vom dänischen Architekten Arne Jacobsen geplant und gebaut wurde. Das Forum wurde planerisch zwischen die beiden Städte Castrop und Rauxel gebaut, die bereits 1926 zu einer Stadt zusammengelegt worden waren. Das Forum sollte eine neue Stadtmitte formulieren und wurde als eine symbolische Mitte Europas gesehen. Castrop-Rauxel liegt im Ruhrgebiet und war in den 1960er und 70er Jahren noch sehr stark vom Bergbau geprägt. Der Aufnahmezeitpunkt fiel auf einen beliebigen Tag im Frühjahr 2010. Die Videoinstallation wird zusammen mit den Drucken Ohne Titel (Vorhänge) gezeigt.
